Yesterday was a very special day at Malletts Bay School. We were fortunate enough to be visited by members of the USA National Women’s Hockey Team!! Fifth grade students in the chorus sang the Star Spangled Banner as the team walked into the gym for our school-wide presentation. What an exciting day it was!

Last week, we had our Classroom Talent Shows in music class. There were many, many talented musicicans who performed for their classmates, and they did a WONDERFUL job!! Check out the video below of the fifth grade students who performed!

This week has been filled with Classroom Talent Shows during music class. Many students from every class have been showcasing their talents for their classmates. Examples of these talents are singing, dancing, playing a variety of instruments, improvising, drumming, and playing the piano. Annika learned how to play the song, America, My Country Tis of Thee on her flute, and decided to perform it for her classroom talent show. Wow, what a FANTASTIC job, Annika! Keep up the great work on playing your flute! I am very impressed!!

The Winter Chorus & Band Concert in February was a WONDERFUL success!! Excellent job to everyone who performed, I am very proud of you! Now we look forward to our Spring Concert on Thursday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m.

The Colchester School District Band Concert is coming up soon!

WHEN: Saturday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m.
WHERE: Colchester High School Gym

When to Arrive: band students will need to arrive at 10:40 a.m. and report to the CHS Auditorium. Parents can go the CHS Gym to find a seat on the risers for the performance.

What to Wear: band students need to wear their blue Colchester Music T-shirts and blue jeans. It’s going to be fun and casual performance!

The district band concert will feature music from the all MBS, CMS, and CHS bands. Trust me, that’s going to be a lot of students-musicians!! The performance should be about 1-hour in length.

Our blue Colchester music t-shirts have arrived, and they look great!!

Miss Clark will be handing out shirts to students in a couple weeks, so they can be worn to our Colchester District Band Concert on Saturday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m.

Besides wearing your new t-shirts, all band students will also need to wear blue jeans to the district concert coming up soon!
